Career Development For Engineering, Environment and ICT Fields

This course is free and has been developed by YWCA (Hamilton) in collaboration with CAPE Council for Access to the Profession of Engineering. It consists of a set of four participant-centered workshops on career planning, self-marketing, mentoring and networking, and job search and interview techniques.

This course has been designed as the means to help prospective job seekers and new immigrants in engineering, environmental and ICT fields to define and search for their dream job based on real-time labor market intelligence, and to adapt to Canadian cultures and ideologies. The course covers a vast array of content including; the importance of an excellent resume and cover letter, interview preparation, how to assess yourself for the market and the importance of networking. Each workshop is supplemented by informative videos and high quality samples as well as resources.
