- Who can become a member of CAPE?
- Engineering Profession
- All immigrants who hold engineering qualifications and experience and have immigrated to Canada to work in and contribute to engineering in Canada can become regular members of CAPE. A regular member must possess an engineering degree or diploma from any university or other post-secondary institution from a country outside of Canada, must be a permanent resident, citizen or refugee residing in Canada, or a potential immigrant who has filed for landed immigrant status in Canada. The applicant may or may not hold a professional license or certification in any province or territory of Canada: To be eligible to become a regular member the applicant must:
- Be at least 18 years of age;
- Be a citizen or permanent resident of Canada or must have made a formal application to immigrate to Canada; and
- Possess a minimum of post-secondary credentials (2-4 years of education after secondary schooling) in the engineering, engineering technician or engineering technologist fields
- Other Professions
- Immigrants who hold qualifications in professions other than engineering and have immigrated to Canada to work in and contribute to their professions in Canada can become Associate members of CAPE. An Associate member must possess degree or diploma in a professional field from any university or other post-secondary institution from a country outside of Canada, must be a permanent resident, citizen or refugee residing in Canada, or a potential immigrant who has filed for landed immigrant status in Canada. To be eligible to become an Associate member the applicant must:
- Be at least 18 years of age;
- Be a citizen or permanent resident of Canada or must have made a formal application to immigrate to Canada; and
- Possess a minimum of post-secondary credentials (2-4 years of education after secondary schooling) in a regulated or certified profession in Canada.
- Service Providing Organizations
- Service Providing Organizations (SPOs) that are involved in offering employment and transition support to immigrants with engineering and other professional backgrounds settling in Canada can register to become supporting members of CAPE
- Sponsors and Patrons
- Individuals or organizations who wish to support the mission and objectives of CAPE can become sponsors and Patrons for some of our regular events and activities.
