Members of CAPE have increasingly been calling upon CAPE to strengthen its advocacy, seek legal action and take collective action to address issues surrounding public documentation of what constitutes Canadian experience. In our latest strategic plan we have argued that good citizenship requires us put our country ahead of self-interests of engineers. CAPE and its member are doing this through the implementation of ‘From Canadian First to Canada First’ - a multi-stakeholder employment strategy for immigrants with engineering backgrounds by making our voice heard, creating a responsible community, enhancing the mobility of engineers within and outside Canada, and making Canada a world leader in engineering innovation. CAPE is set up an advocacy task force and striving to develop an official Citizenship and Advocacy Plan during 2010-2011. We invite all members of CAPE to join our advocacy and citizenship platform
